Wildfire Erupts on Mooseland Road in Rural Halifax County
An out-of-control wildfire has burned more than 300 hectares in the Jacket Lake area of rural Halifax County, Nova Scotia, prompting evacuation orders and a massive firefighting response. The Mooseland Road fire was first reported on Wednesday evening at approximately 7pm when authorities received calls about heavy smoke in the area near Tangier, about 100 kilometres east of Halifax.
