Niagara Regional Police are investigating after a 39-year-old man was shot in the parking lot of a shopping plaza in St. Catharines on Thursday morning. The incident occurred near Bunting Road and Carlton Street just before 7:15 a.m., according to authorities.
Victim Suffers Non-Life-Threatening Injuries
The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that police described as non-life-threatening. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the call was placed, but the suspects had already fled the area before officers could arrive. Investigators have not yet released a description of the suspects or a vehicle associated with the incident.

Niagara Regional Police detectives from the 1st District are leading the investigation and are asking residents and businesses in the area of Bunting Road and Carlton Street to review any video surveillance footage that may have captured the incident or the moments leading up to it. Officers are particularly interested in dashcam and CCTV recordings from the surrounding area.
North St Catharines Plaza Scene
The shooting took place in the parking lot of a north St. Catharines plaza that includes a Goodlife Fitness location. The area was cordoned off for several hours as forensic investigators combed the scene for evidence. Police tape surrounded sections of the parking lot while officers gathered witness statements from people who were in the area at the time.
